Regions among top small business lenders

The Birmingham Business Journal reports that Regions Financial Corp. has been ranked as one of the top small business lenders in the nations.
“The Birmingham-based banking company nabbed the third spot for giving out the most small business loans under $1 million among large U.S. banks, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s annual report dubbed ‘Small Business and Micro Business Lending in the United States, for Data Years 2007-2008.’”
Regions, which has the highest ranking for Alabama banks, lent out $1.7 billion in loans to small businesses.
