According to Chicago Business, “Northern Trust Corp. is closing three Illinois branches in September, a rarity for the 120-year-old bank that caters to the wealthy and has just 19 locations in the state.”
Northern Trust, which is the largest locally based bank in the Chicago area, will close its branches in Schaumburg, Park Ridge, and Lake Buff. The bank is not cutting any jobs; instead, the closing of the 3 branches will result in some staff rearrangement.
“In a statement, Northern said it doesn’t plan any more closings in Chicago or elsewhere in the U.S.”
