Local credit union plans expansion

The St. Cloud Times reports that the Central Minnesota Federal Credit Union is expanding its operations into St. Joseph and Avon.

The credit union will open a building at 1300 Elm St. E in St. Joseph by the end of this year or early 2010. Next month, construction will begin on a building in the downtown area of Avon.

The credit union, which has been in business since 1929, has its main headquarters in Melrose.
