Kentucky banks ranked eighth for returns on assets

According to Business First of Louisville, “in the most recent national banking profile from federal regulators, Kentucky’s banks ranked eighth in the nation, based on return on average assets, according to a news release from the Kentucky Department of Financial Institution.”

Kentucky’s 199 financial institutions collectively had an average return of 0.9% in the first quarter.

“The average return nationally on average assets for the first quarter was 0.22 percent, including banks in the District of Columbia and some states posting low or negative returns.”
