According to Business First of Louisville, “the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. is reporting bad checks in the name of Kentucky Bank.”

The fake checks have the routing number of the Kentucky Bank and a security feather statement along the border. “The bank name and address are in the top left corner, and “Official Bank Check” is displayed inside a foil rectangle in the top center.”

The FDIC was able to discover the counterfeit checks because of various inconstancies with the real checks issued by the bank.
